- Day 1
San Francisco
Begin your adventure overlooking iconic landmarks
Offering spectacular views of the skyline and iconic Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco provides an ideal place to kick off your west coast yacht vacation.
After a welcome lunch on board, arrange to take a tender ashore to downtown San Francisco to experience the heady bustle of Fisherman’s Wharf and explore the city’s labyrinthine streets and hidden alleys. Don't miss the chance to visit Lombard Street, the world's ‘crookedest’ street, as well as grabbing some retail therapy in Union Square.
To make your visit truly memorable, head to Pier 33 and take a cruise over to Alcatraz Island – home to the notorious former federal penitentiary. Discover the history of the island and its nefarious inhabitants, choosing from a range of guided tours that are run by National Park Rangers and volunteers. They also operate a night program with guided tours, which leave the mainland at 6.30pm and return by 8.45pm in time for a delicious evening meal on board.
