By Oliver Pearson   28 December 2017

Rounding-up some of the hottest deliveries of the year, we countdown the 5 largest charter yachts which were launched in 2017. If this wasn’t inspiring enough, we also reveal where you can expect to enjoy them in 2018.

There’s no denying that when it comes to motor yachts and sailing yachts, bigger is very often better. Indeed, with more space available, designers are able to integrate even more special features and extras, leaving guests with plenty of space in which to enjoy them.

When it come to a private yacht charter vacation, then, it is certainly worth considering something a little larger if you are planning to get away with a big group of friends and family.

Of course, if there’s one thing as exciting as a big superyacht, it’s a new superyacht. With this in mind, we’ve compiled a list of 5 of the largest superyachts which were launched this year.

5. Silver Lining

A masterclass in opulence, the 50m/164ft motor yacht ‘Silver Lining’ is one of the first Christensen deliveries from the HV Series.

Boasting high-gloss finishes on the exterior and a warm range of furnishings around the interior, the motor yacht is unquestionably inviting and an incredible place to unwind whilst taking in some exceptional surroundings.

With a lengthy sundeck bar and Jacuzzi to enjoy in the sun, and a multi-functional skylounge to retire to, those on board have access to an intimate world of luxury.

Capable of sleeping up to 12 guests across 6 well-appointed cabins, M/Y Silver Lining is believed to be available for charter in the finest cruising grounds of North America in summer.

4. Seven Sins

A totally innovative superyacht which quickly won the award for ‘Best Interior Design 164-270ft’ at the World Yacht Trophies 2017, there can be no denying that the 52m/171ft luxury yacht ‘Seven Sins’ is something special.

Of course, the feature which continues to get people talking is the glass encased swimming pool on the aft which forms the ceiling of the beach club below.

Furnished with a variety of comfortable sofas and seating, this beach club ultimately serves as the central social hub on board the superyacht.

As well as being one of the largest charter yachts launched this year, Seven Sins is also one of the most revolutionary

Besides the enormous and superbly designed beach club, Seven Sins also features a full-size bar on the sundeck which serves up endless refreshments throughout the day.

As well as a well-proportioned master suite, there is also a VIP cabin, 2 doubles, and 1 convertible to sleep up to 12 guests in total.

With boarding and disembarking carried out with the help of a 8m tender, guests can be assured of getting between the yacht and the mainland in style. Next year, she is expected to be available for charter in the Mediterranean.

3. LILI

Complete with an oversized sundeck, a large swimming pool with counter-current jets, and a beach club with its own steam room, the 55m/180ft motor yacht LILI is primed to deliver only the most memorable of charter vacations.

Situated on the bridge deck, the master suite has its own retractable balcony, forming the perfect spot for the principal charter guest to enjoy their morning coffee. With 3 additional doubles, and 3 twins, LILI can sleep up to 12 guests whilst away on charter.

Spending her winters in the Indian Ocean and summers in the Mediterranean, the Amels superyacht is perfect for those after something a little exotic as well as those more inclined towards tradition.

2. Cloud 9

Another award-winning new delivery, the 74m/243ft luxury yacht ‘Cloud 9’ was named the yacht with the ‘Best Layout 164-270ft’ at the World Yachts Trophies 2017.

Such high praise came as no surprise, with many innovative flourishes heightening the overall charter experience. The side-loading tender garage, for example, allows guests to easily access toys and tenders without having to sacrifice any communal space.

Along with a large master cabin, M/Y Cloud 9 has a VIP and 6 doubles, 2 of which can be converted to form twins. Altogether, this configuration allows her to sleep up to 12 guests. Following the milk route, she is available in the Mediterranean over summer, and the Caribbean during the winter.

1. Here Comes The Sun

Coming in as the largest charter yacht launched this year, the 83m/273ft motor yacht ‘Here Comes The Sun’ puts her fantastic volume to incredible use, with over six decks given over to guest spaces.

With 900 square metres of this being used for exterior space, charter guests are able to get the most out of their surroundings by getting comfortable on furnishings positioned across each area.

Large and full of surprises, superyacht Here Comes The Sun promises to become an icon of the charter fleet
