Spain has kickstarted its summer season this week, with borders reopening to all vaccinated travelers from the EU, US and UK commencing June 7. This is excellent news for guests keen to explore magnificent mainland destinations with highly regarded superyacht marinas such as Barcelona and Puerto Banus, or to go island-hopping in the supremely beautiful Balearic Islands.
All travellers (including those outside the EU/Schengen area) can now visit the country providing they have a vaccination certification and have been fully vaccinated within the last 14 days. The only exception to this rule are currently tourists in the virus variant areas of South Africa, India and Brazil. Accepted vaccines include Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, AstraZeneca as well as Sinopharm and Sinovac. All certificates must be in English, Spanish, French or German.
EU tourists that have not been vaccinated can also visit Spain, with the country now accepting antigen tests instead of a recent negative PCR test.
Alternatively, guests that can provide medical proof that they have overcome COVID-19 in the past six months may also be allowed to enter.
The most popular destination for yacht rentals in Spain is certainly the mesmerising Balearics: a chain of four main verdant isles: Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera that all boast many hidden gems waiting to be explored.
