Bravo TV series ‘Below Deck’ is set to return to screens for a second series and is currently recruiting new members of crew to star in the show on board the 46m/151’ Admiral motor yacht OHANA.
The first series of the reality show first aired on US TV in summer 2013 and followed the lives of a working charter crew and their guests over the course of five weeks in the Caribbean. The debut series was shot on board the 50m (164’) luxury charter yacht ‘Cuor di Leone’ which was renamed ‘Honor’ for the show and normal crew replaced with an all-American one chosen by the executive producers.
Despite being subject to some criticism from yachting industry professionals who claim the ‘reality’ show was not a true representation of luxury yacht charters, ‘Below Deck’ was a ratings hit with the finale reaching 1.8 million total viewers. For the second series, Bravo TV have chosen popular charter yacht OHANA as the setting, commandeered by her experienced Captain. John Drugach and will also require charter bookings for the duration of the show.
Producers are now looking for crew to fill the roles of first mate, engineer, chef, chief stewardess, stewardess and deckhand. All potential candidates must be permitted to work in the United States and the chosen crew will be will be paid an ‘industry standard’ wage with filming commencing this month in the British Virgin Islands.
