Following her sale in December, the 73.5m/241’ expedition motor yacht GIANT has been renamed LEGEND and is available for charter for the first time since her launch in 1973.
LEGEND was recently delivered to her new owner Jan Verkerk who also owns the magnificent 69m/226’4 charter yacht SHERAKHAN. Superyachttimes.com spoke to Verkerk about his recent purchase in which he confirmed that he would be putting LEGEND on the global charter fleet and that she will be used for adventurous charters in the remote areas of the world, such as Antarctica, Greenland and the North Pole.
Superyacht LEGEND was built by IHC Verschure as a working vessel before being converted into a luxury explorer yacht offering lavish interiors and a huge selection of amenities. She has also retained her original seagoing salvage tug/icebreaker qualities to make her ideal for comfortable long range cruising and exciting expedition charters.
Her large interior volume offers accommodation for up 24 guests in 12 staterooms and boasts a number of elegant, high-quality salon and dining areas as well as a fully-equipped gymnasium, theatre and large outdoor areas.
