The fourth edition of the TYBA Yacht Charter Show has wrapped up for another year after an incredibly successful five days. Hosting the largest number of yachts to date, the trade-only luxury yacht charter event gave industry professionals the chance to get up close to stunning yachts available to charter, as well as see key insights into Turkish tourism in the local area.
Running from 5 - 9 May, the TYBA Yacht Charter Show 2023 brought together a grand total of 50 superyachts and a whole host of the global yachting community, including brokers, media and crew who traveled to D-Marin Marina in Göcek, Turkey, where the event was hosted.
The event showcased the best of Turkey and the yacht charter market
Organized by the Turkish Yacht Brokers Association (TYBA), the show allowed industry professionals to experience the best of Turkish yachting as they toured a selection of charter yachts, all of which are available to rent in the magical waters of Turkey and beyond.
From traditional Turkish wooden gulets and modern motor yachts to slightly larger motor-sailing yachts, the event showcased the best of Turkey and the yacht charter market.
The largest yacht that attended this year's show was the 64m (210ft) superyacht RUNNING ON WAVES. Delivered in 2011 and fresh from a refit in 2021, the majestic sail yacht effortlessly combines classic looks with superb modern amenities, creating a fabulous boat for yacht charter vacations in the Mediterranean.
With the capacity to accommodate up to 45 guests across 18 cabins, the yacht is perfect for entertaining in style.
Also drawing a lot of attention was the sleek 55m (180ft) superyacht QUINTA ESSENTIA, delivered by Admiral Yachts in 2016. The yacht is ideal for popular and remote charter destinations, boasting a refreshing interior design, a large exterior Jacuzzi, and an enormous swim platform.
Refitted in 2022, the 42m (139ft) yacht LADY I was also in attendance. Custom built by CRN, the yacht boasts an array of sumptuous living areas, tremendous spa facilities and accommodation for 10 guests across five cabins.
Throughout the duration of the show, plenty of events were held from morning until evening, including inspirational and thought-provoking seminars, cocktail soirees and yacht hops which not only showcased the spectacular Turkish hospitality, food and entertainment but also provided great opportunities for industry professionals to discuss and network.
Competitions also took place during the show and awards were handed out to the most welcoming crew and to the top Chef.
On the final evening, visitors enjoyed a special Gala Dinner at the ONNO Yacht Club, where everyone came together to celebrate the success of one of the most important yachting events in the East Mediterranean.
Yachting is an ever-growing industry in Turkey, drawing in VIP travelers looking for beautiful coastlines and scenic bays to explore on their private yacht charter. The cruising grounds of Turkey’s southern coastline, known as The Turquoise Coast is something the show shed light on, providing visitors with key insights into Turkey as a yachting destination.
Dramatic and diverse, its hidden coves, rustic villages, and picturesque settings combine with modern luxury in the region's hottest boutique hotels that are scattered along the coast. Lapped by warm, transparent waters that play host to abundant marine life, it is also the perfect place to explore beneath the waterline.
