12 - 16 Sep 2014
One of the highest profile fashion events in the world, London Fashion Week is one of the 'Big Four' international fashion weeks alongside New York, Milan and Paris.
Organised by the Birtish Fashion Council (BFC) and funded by numerous sponsors including their principal sponsor, Vodafone, London Fashion Week (LFW) puts London and British fashion on the international stage, generating orders of around £100million. The Guest Programme alone generates more than £50million of orders and the event itself contributes £20million towards London's economy with regards to direct spenditure.
Drawing in visitors from over 25 different countries, including America, France, Italy, Russia, and China, over 5,000 visitors attend the Fashion Week. Buyers, TV and radio crews, journalists and photographers all flock to Somerset House and the media coverage is equal to, if not greater than, most major news and global sporting events.
LFW consists of 60 catwalk shows on the official schedule, as well as a further 45 shows that take place off-schedule and over 30 on-schedule presentations and salon shows. Designer Showrooms run alongside the shows displaying more than 120 ready-to-wear accessories each season.
