The Pointe Marina and Bay Street Marina, Nassau
27 Feb - 1 Mar 2020
Hosted across two marinas in Nassau, the inaugural edition of the Bahamas Charter Show will shine the spotlight on a selection of Bahamas-based charter yachts.
Running for four days between February 27 - March 1 2020, the trade-only Bahamas Charter Show will provide the industry with an invaluable insight into the Bahamas’ charter fleet.
The show marks the perfect opportunity for brokers to familiarise themselves with the yachts on display through comprehensive tours and meetings with the captains and crew. Attendees will also gain a better understanding of the local region, with panel discussions and itinerary seminars on the agenda as well as plenty of social and networking events.
The invitation-only yachting meet will be held in Nassau between Bay Street Marina and the brand new Pointe Marina, with a shuttle service to transport show-goers between both locations.
The show is the first of its kind in the Bahamas, and is set to become an annual event that will unite the industry and educate attendees.
All of the yachts at the show must be based in the Bahamas or open to charter in the Bahamas without charging a delivery fee, ensuring the event is catered exclusively towards the local fleet.
According to the show’s organizers, the fleet requirements are in place “to ensure that every yacht gets maximum exposure and to allow for charter brokers to spend quality time with each of the crew.”
The yachts in attendance have a wealth of experience chartering across the Bahamas, with knowledgeable crews and glowing reviews from past guests.
The Bahamas Charter Show will be partnering with a Nassau-based charity Ranfurly Homes for Children, an organization that provides transitional housing and childcare services for young adults in the Bahamas. The show is raising funds for Ranfurly's future expansion, The Step, which offers support to young people making the transition from foster care to independent living.
The show also hopes to highlight the economic benefits that private yacht charter brings to the Bahamas. In the wake of Hurricane Dorian, which hit the Abacos Islands and Grand Bahama last year, it’s important that the yachting community continues to support the unaffected islands.
The show will kick off with a guided tour of the Marinas of Nassau, which aims to provide attendees with an insight into the local facilities available to visiting superyachts. This will be held on February 26 and February 27, with a welcome event on the 27 at SEVEN at the Pointe that will officially inaugurate the show.
The yachts will be open for viewings from February 28 and 29 between Bay Street Marina and The Pointe Marina. The standard opening times are between 9am - 6pm.
Saturday night will play host to a special event that celebrates the Bahamas and its culture. Then on Sunday, participants will have the chance to explore the cruising grounds of the Bahamas with a day out at Rose Island.
