Situated in the first-ever land and sea park in the world, the Exuma Cays Land and Sea National Park, lies the Whale of Waderick Wells, a 52' sperm whale whose skeleton has been reconstructed in memory of its death.
After losing a battle with a plastic bag from the ocean, the sperm whale reminds all visitors to act responsibly when out at sea. As with many of the locations found within these beautiful Bahamian islands, the only way to get to this outstanding park is by boat.
A truly remarkable sight and a breathtaking place to be
The stunningly huge skeleton of the sperm whale has been there since it died in 1995. The skeleton was fortified in its natural form and makes an emotion-packed statue that no artist could duplicate it. Equally striking are the gorgeous blue shades of water and the beautiful scenery that surround this bay, making it an enticing area to explore by boat, foot or snorkeling.
