Located on the island of Misool, this lake is inhabited by thousands of golden jellyfish– promising breathtaking sights like no other while cruising round Raja Ampat on your luxury yacht charter.
Lenmakana Lake’s hidden location in the middle of Misool Island meant that it was only discovered less than 10 years ago. As such, it is a relatively untouched Eden that promises you and your charter guests a quiet and secluded experience where you can truly connect with the extremely rare natural sights.
What makes the lake so famous is that it is home to thousands of Golden Medusa, Moon, and Cassiopeia jellyfish, whose golden-yellow forms are illuminated by the sun’s rays above the water’s surface. Unlike other species of jellyfish, those at Lenmakana Lake are completely harmless, so be sure to take advantage of the diving equipment onboard your motor yacht to see and feel these jellyfish swarming around you. Remember, however, that given the delicate nature of these organisms, diving fins are not permitted in the lake.
While the lake’s waters are deep, the jellyfish typically swim in sunlit waters so are usually found near the surface. It is therefore perfect for those less confident divers in your Raja Ampat charter party who prefer to avoid delving too far below the surface.
If you would like to explore Lenmakana’s turquoise lake for yourself, then be sure to speak to your preferred yacht charter broker to incorporate a visit into your Indonesia charter itinerary.
