The 50m (164ft) superyacht THANUJA has been relaunched in Antalya, Turkey after undergoing a comprehensive two-year reconstruction project. The overhaul, which began in 2021, was initially intended as a refit but soon evolved into a total rebuild. This involved stripping the yacht down to its bare metal, extending it by eight meters, and redesigning both the interior and exterior.
Finally unveiled following its two-year renovation, the reimagined motor yacht from Concept Marine features structural modifications such as a new aluminium superstructure and a steel hull block.
Initiated by the German owner who supervised the design and engineering process in conjunction with David White and Zucker & Partners, the extensive project featured design work that was executed by iYachts.
Deck enhancements on the luxury charter yacht included the installation of new stainless steel handrails and hardware, along with a complete replacement of the teak decking. The yacht's technical spaces were also revamped, boasting a new engine room, updated equipment, plus new bow and stern thrusters. The reconstruction encompassed pipes, wiring, engines, and generators.
The yacht's interior was reimagined and revamped by German design studio Katharina Raczek Design (KRD, which includes updates to both guest and crew areas. A representative from the shipyard confirmed that, apart from a few fan coils and navigational units, everything was replaced.
Equipped with MAN Engines and CAT C4.4 generators, THANUJA is currently scheduled for sea trials in October and is expected to be ready for the Mediterranean charter season in 2024.
