The inaugural edition of the Thailand Yacht Show & Rendezvous is now underway, transforming Royal Phuket Marina, Thailand, into a bustling hub of all things luxury.
A fusion of three successful maritime events, the show is set to become the biggest luxury gathering in South East Asia, with yacht displays, exhibits from upscale brands and exclusive entertainment.
An official opening ceremony kicked off proceedings earlier today at 2pm local time and a welcome party in Phuket's Town Square featuring live music will round up day one in style.
Other activities taking place today include VIP wine-tasting, live watersports demonstrations, a networking happy hour in the Thai Yachting Business Association Pavilion and cigar tasting.
These events are taking place alongside impressive yacht showcases in the marina. Top shipyards such as Numarine, Sunseeker and Simpson Marine are on hand to showcase their latest models while some standout superyachts are berthed nearby on the private island Koh Rang Noi.
Two of the finest on display are Lurssen’s magnificent 73m/240ft luxury yacht TITANIA and the 54m/178ft luxury yacht ‘Talisman Maiton’ from Turquoise. Both are open for charter in the region.
As well as touring the yachts, attendees can browse exhibits of supercars, furniture, timepieces, high fashion, jewellery, luxury properties, and bespoke travel companies. There is also a delicious array of classic Thai street food and international fine dining available.
Show-goers will be a mix of high-net-worth buyers, sellers and aspiring yacht owners, with around 5,000 visitors from across 50 countries in Asia and beyond expected in total.
Other highlights over the next four days will include whisky tasting, live music in Town Square, mixology classes, photography workshops, yacht parties, a private island soiree and a closing party.
