The 53m/174ft superyacht KD, the sister ship of the award-winning 52m/171ft charter yacht ‘Seven Sins’, was launched at Sanlorenzo’s La Spezia shipyard in Italy earlier this week.
KD is the second in the Italian yard’s 52Steel line, following the launch of Seven Sins in January 2017, and a christening ceremony was held for the new build on 24 March.
Following in the footsteps of her predecessor, KD boasts sleek and contemporary exterior lines created in collaboration with Officina Italiana Design, as well as signature Sanlorenzo black-tinted windows. The interior, meanwhile, is understood to be designed by Tiziana Vercellesi.
KD shares some of Seven Sins' stand-out features, including a transparent pool on the main deck, which lets light pass through to the beach club area below formed by opening drop-down terraces on three sides of the motor yacht.
The beach club area can also be converted into a float-in, floodable garage. With the floors of the beach area elevated, there is space to accommodate tenders of up to 8 metres in length.
Up to 12 guests can be accommodated on board in five staterooms. These include a master suite, two double cabins and two twin cabins with pullman berths.

Other highlights include a spacious foredeck seating area, which is ideal for relaxing in privacy when moored stern-to-stern.
A steel displacement yacht, she has a beam of 9.35 metres, allowing for a total interior volume just shy of the 500GT mark, while the maximum draft is 2.65 metres. She is capable of reaching a top speed of 18 knots and comfortably cruises at 16 knots.
Luxury yacht KD is not expected to join the charter market on her delivery later this year. But Seven Sins is available for private yacht charters in the Mediterranean this summer.
