Just in time to host some of the events taking place at the Miami Yacht & Brokerage Show 2016, the Island Gardens Deep Harbour was officially declared open earlier this week.
Capable of berthing up to 50 superyachts and offering all of the necessary provisions for their maintenance, the highly anticipated Island Gardens Deep Harbour has finally become a reality.
Situated on Watson Island, the marina has 5,000 linear feet of capacity and is estimated to have cost around $1 billion.
Now that it is fully operational, the marina is expected to host around 20 superyachts during this year’s show.
Sealing Miami’s commitment to yachting, the Island Gardens Deep Harbour will provide a hub for both owners and charter guests cruising the city’s surrounding waters.
With plans for restaurants, luxury hotels, and residential buildings to join the yachting facilities sometime in the near future, it’s likely that work on the marina will continue until around 2018.
An environmentally conscious project, the developers have invested in a considerable amount of synthetic reef to reduce the effects the work has had on the nearby marine life.
Featuring all of the latest design concepts, there’s no doubt that the marina will receive as much attention as the yachts themselves
