Monaco Yacht Show 2023 Round Up

By Katie Scott   4 October 2023

Closing down after a successful edition full to the brim of captivating displays of iconic yachts for charter and brand-new superyachts making their world debuts, we look back at the latest edition of the Monaco Yacht Show and reminisce its biggest highlights.

Showcasing a diverse collection of 560 carefully curated exhibitors that epitomize the premium quality of the indulgent motor yachts in the marina, the Monaco Yacht Show opened its doors with the glorious Mediterranean sun on its side and a glistening array of yachts that were simply jaw-dropping.

With Port Hercule buzzing with excitement, visitors to the show welcomed the return of some of the biggest names in the superyacht industry including the likes of Feadship, Abeking & Rasmussen, Lurssen and Sunseeker.

Getting up close and personal to some truly magnificent masterpieces, there were ample opportunities to inspect award-winning design collaborations, inspirational superyacht interiors, and of course, some of the most innovative products and motor yachts on the market.

Standout Superyachts

Boasting an enticing collection of 179 yachts at the 2023 event, Monaco dazzled visitors with 86 debuts around the pontoons and a substantial increase of new yachts in comparison to previous editions, with a 37% increase based on figures from the 2022 show.

Best in show for 2023, 75m (246.8ft) charter yacht KENSHO made her presence known, with her striking azure exterior attracting many visitors throughout the duration of the show. Impressing everyone with her spacious beach club and glass-sided swimming pool, the exceptionally high level of craftsmanship was evident, and with premium facilities stacked with state-of-the-art technology, she made a real statement for Admiral Yachts and indeed the show itself.

Also making an impact along the pontoons, Feadship showed off its incredible style with 84m (273.11ft) charter yacht SAVANNAH. Offering an artistic twist on traditional interiors, there's an effortless blend of timeless wooden aesthetics and modern influences throughout. As the world’s first hybrid superyacht, she was the perfect match for a show that advocates the mission to create a greener superyacht lifestyle.

Proving that you should never judge a book by its cover, two standout superyachts bore escapes to hidden realms with their boundary-pushing interiors. Luxury superyacht LEONA is sleek and smart with a deep red hull, but on the inside, she is a designer's paradise. Showcasing different themes for multiple rooms, and even statues around an indoor pool, she has pulled out all the stops to create something unique.

The 2022 Benetti charter yacht GALAXY also allowed visitors to immerse themselves in another world with space-infused decor throughout with deep hues of blue and purple, plus intricate solar system murals.

A luxury yacht charter that couldn't not be mentioned, the stunning motor yacht NERO made a surprise last-minute addition to the official listing for the 2023 Monaco Yacht Show. Visiting the show at anchor more than once, visitors were treated to rare close-up viewings of the aesthetically pleasing superyacht in all her glory.

Advocating Adventure

In addition to its globally renowned collection of premium superyachts, Monaco was all geared up and ready to show all the visitors how to explore and make the most of the picturesque scenes of France, and, indeed, the South of France in particular.

Providing both land and air exhibits with an exotic collection of 30 cars and motorcycles on the ground plus a pair of helicopters circling above, the Adventure Area created a fully immersive experience for visitors and fully optimized the insight into the lifestyle associated with prestige charter yachts.

Moving away from the high-speed thrills of supercars and helicopters, the Monaco Yacht Show also hosted the anticipated return of the Sustainability Hub and the Design & Innovation Hub. Proving to be popular and highly valuable assets to the show, these hubs went above and beyond to inform and educate visitors about forthcoming projects, the ways the industry is moving to minimize environmental impact, and discuss new products in development.
