After another outstanding edition of the Mediterranean Yacht Show (MEDY’s), YachtCharterFleet reflects on all the on-water action across the 5 day show.
Bringing together a dazzling fleet of over 90 superyachts along with around 600 industry professionals and experienced charter brokers from around the globe, the historical port of Nafplion has been a hive of activity thanks to another successful Mediterranean Yacht show.
Organized by the Greek Yachting Association (GYA), the Mediterranean Yacht Show was a great success and allowed visitors to immerse themselves in the superyacht lifestyle and view the outstanding and extensive collection of yachts from luxury catamarans, sailing yachts and luxury motor yachts.
The editorial team at YachtCharterFleet was in attendance to gather exclusive information and tour some of the finest yachts in the industry, witnessing all the latest innovations, technology and designs as well as tasting divine foods from some of the top chefs in the industry.
The show kicked off with spectacular sunshine beaming down over the dazzling fleet and the atmosphere in Nafplion was buzzing with excitement as show-goers walked the red carpet for the first time in two years due to the show being postponed due to the pandemic.
With a strong turnout of vessels at this year’s edition, leading the way in terms of length was the 95m (312ft) superyacht O’PARI from Golden Yachts, drawing in plenty of attention thanks to her impressive size and luxurious beach club. Turning many heads on the boardwalk, she was one of the most talked-about yachts at the show, boasting an abundance of voluminous living areas and incredibly contemporary and modern interiors.
YachtCharterFleet was lucky enough to step onboard to enjoy a tour around O’PARI, among many other yachts in the top tier of luxury design and craftsmanship.
Another top yacht on display was the eye-catching 55m (181ft) superyacht GECO. Striking and incredibly unique in design, the remarkable superyacht stood out as she showcased her impeccable lighting features, sundeck jacuzzi and multi-purpose beach deck. Just as beautiful in the day as she is at night, GECO lit up the surrounding waters and visitors were lining up for a chance to step onboard.
Berthed in close proximity was the sleek 47m (154ft) Benetti yacht AFRICA I, who also stunned guests thanks to her highly modern interior spaces. Stepping onboard, her opulent alfresco dining and seating areas caught many show-goers' attention and it was clear to see how she is equipped perfectly to treat guests to a highly memorable charter vacation.
There were several other yachts turning the heads of show attendees including the likes of 59m (194ft) M/Y IDYLLIC and the beautifully modern 50m (164m) sailing yacht BARACUDA who stood out thanks to her interior styling by Italian designer Perini Navi.
The show proved to be an exceptionally informative opportunity and an immersive networking experience
Back at the port, there was plenty to see and the boardwalks were bustling with people conversing and sharing the same passion for the luxury superyacht lifestyle.
As the sun went down, the streets of Nafplion lit up and so did the yachts, showcasing them in a new light and creating a magical ambiance.
Familiarising themselves with captains and crews as well as the outstanding yachts at the show, brokers and yacht industry professionals left with a true understanding of the outstanding opportunities that a luxury charter around Greece has to offer.
This year’s Mediterranean Yacht Show was a grand success for all involved, with more guests returning to enjoy the exhilarating show. Nafplion proved why it is the perfect location for the show and as usual, the sound of the attending yachts' horns in unison signifies the end of another successful event until next year.
