Causing a sensation in Porto Cervo, the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta has returned for its 11th edition in the sparkling waters of Sardinia.
Hosted by the exclusive Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta 2018 will see the privately owned 45m/148ft sailing yacht SAUDADE returning to defend her title in what is sure to be an action-packed 4 day event.
One of the most anticipated regattas to take place in the Mediterranean, the event will begin today and take the competitors around the islands of the La Maddalena archipelago in pursuit style.
Accompanied by a number of social events taking place around the state of the art marina, allowing both the competing sailors and discerning guests to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Costa Smeralda in style.
With the race set to begin at 13:20, light winds have established ideal conditions for Race Course 5, a route which will take the yachts near to the island of Capera.
As well as the private yachts competing in this year’s regatta, the 50m/163ft sailing yacht OHANA and the 46m/151ft sailing yacht GANESHA are both available for charter vacations. Each boasting a range of exciting features, they allow those on board to unwind and enjoy an authentic sailing experience.

With racing due to continue through until Saturday, the programme will also include a sunset party on Phi Beach this Friday, with the prize giving taking place at the Piazza Azzurra on Saturday.
