Latest: First glimpse of Oceanco's largest sailing superyacht Y721

By Nina Done   20 October 2021

Onlookers were rewarded with their first glimpse of Oceanco's 127-meter sailing superyacht Y721 – the longest hull ever built in the Netherlands – as it was rolled out of the shed at the yard's Zwijndrecht's facilities this morning.

Rumoured to be commissioned by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, details of this Oceanco sailing yacht remain shrouded in secrecy, although pictures show she sports a black hull with classic lines, and is reported to be a three-masted schooner with a bowsprit, not dissimilar to Royal Huisman's 90m/295ft sailing yacht ATHENA

This yacht will be Oceanco's largest sailing yacht to date, although the yard has previous form having produced the 86m/282ft sailing yacht AQUIJO, as well as the vast 107m/350ft sailing yacht BLACK PEARL featuring the iconic Dynarig sails.

Project Y721 will replace BLACK PEARL for second place in the world's largest sailing yacht rankings behind Nobiskrug's 143m/469ft SAILING YACHT A.

Project Y721 is expected to be transported to Oceanco's facilities for her final outfitting before her launch in 2022.

It is not yet known whether she will join the luxury yacht charter fleet.
