Video: First Look at 118m Abeking 6507 superyacht fully assembled

By Editorial Team   22 December 2022

In the early morning hours yesterday the mast of Abeking & Rasmussen's 118m flagship superyacht was set at the port of Bremen.

The highly secretive Project 6507 left her shed last weekend at Abeking & Rasmussen’s facilities in Lemwerder, Germany via a barge and sailed into deeper waters so she could be launched into the water.

Under the cover of darkness the yard worked through the night to carefully set her mast ready for her to be sailed back up the river the next day to the shipyards facilities for final outfitting.

Dirand is a relative newcomer to the yachting industry and this is his first exterior design project.

The yacht's striking design comes from French designer Joseph Dirand, who is a renowned commercial architect and interior designer.  Dirand is a relative newcomer to the yachting industry and this is his first exterior design project. His only other experience was designing the interior of the black Otam 85GTS sports yacht Cara Montana in 2019.

The megayacht's specifications and amenities have been kept under wraps, but photos show she sports a fully-certified helipad on her sundeck and a vast swimming pool on her main deck aft, as well as a plethora of alfresco relaxation areas across her expansive deck spaces.

Project 6507 features a Nemo lounge to view underwater panoramas from the comfort of the yacht, similar to those found on Feadship's Savannah and Abeking's 74m M'Brace.

She is believed to have a hybrid propulsion system that allows her to cruise in diesel-electric mode, significantly reducing her energy consumption and providing significant fuel savings to her owner.
