The island is gearing up to welcome the fleet of impressive luxury charter yachts that will take part in the 5-day event from 4 - 9 December across the usual three show locations of Nelson's Dockyard Marina, Falmouth Harbour Marina and Antigua Yacht Club Marina.
The event aims to showcase the charter yachts on display to industry brokers, Captains, exhibitors and press from around the world and give them the opportunity to check out the latest refits and new launches, as well as meet respective crew in order to advise charter clients on the best choice for their needs.
Some of the most recognisable and celebrated superyachts in the industry will be exhibited this year, including the iconic 65m (215ft) Benetti yacht TRIUMPH, the 55m (180ft) Amels yacht GALENE, launched in 2020, and the magnificent Royal Huisman sailing yacht HYPERION, to name a few.
There will be the usual shuttle service between the three marinas, as well as a raft of chauffeured golf buggies which can be flagged down at any point for hopping on and off in-between yachts throughout the show.
As well as the yachts on display, there will be a range of exciting activities taking place throughout the event, including the highly-anticipated chef competitions, marine charity bike ride, Caribbean supper evening, Captain’s Soiree and a fun-filled 60s themed aftershow party.
There are also myriad things to see and do in Antigua while you're at the show. Why not take a leisurely hike from English Harbour up to Shirley Heights, a restored military lookout offering spectacular panoramic views across the glittering Caribbean Sea.
This lookout is also renowned for its sundowners on Sunday evenings, where you can sip boozy rum punch cocktails and devour delicious barbecue ribs as you watch a tangerine sun slip slowly past the horizon, while the infectious steel drum beats of the Caribbean work their joyful magic on your soul.
If you’re after something a little more sedate, then hit one of Antigua’s 365 beaches awash with sun-kissed platinum sands, overhanging coconut palms and balmy azure seas.
For culture, while you’re at the show be sure to experience Nelson’s Dockyard, an 18th century port that has been restored to its former glory and is now a UNESCO site offering a range of cultural activities, as well as numerous restaurants, cafes and bars.
Situated in the West Indies, the beautiful Caribbean island of Antigua is one of the defining jewels of the Leeward Islands, and has long been a central hub for luxury yacht charters during the winter season.
Home to several A-list celebrities drawn to its spectacular tropical scenery, myriad powder-fine beaches and turquoise waters, not to mention rich maritime history and some of the Caribbean's most exclusive resorts, Antigua’s enduring appeal is clear to see.
