The first five-star hotel in Ibiza, earning the accolade in 1988, Hacienda Na Xamena was built from 1969 to 1971 by Belgian architect Daniel Lipszyc, who put all his efforts into ensuring the hotel exuded the authentic, hippie White Isle feel while offering top-notch service.

Described as simple, organic and resourceful, the menu takes its inspiration from the Mediterranean. Starters include the likes of cherry gazpacho with prawns and tuna tartar with caviar emulsion while oysters, sea bass and veal candied beef are among the mains.
The rice dishes, such as the mushroom, Iberian and Mahon cheese risotto, are widely celebrated, too. The views are likewise exceptional, and the Edén Lounge features live music throughout the summer, although there are minimum spend obligations and reservations are essential.
Taking its name from Ibiza’s protected seaweed, La Posidonia spa at Hacienda Na Xamena offers an array of traditional therapies and sumptuous SkinCeutical facial treatments alongside yoga, meditation and stretching sessions.
The highlight, however, has to be the Cascadas Suspendidas, a relaxing thalassotherapy experience where spa-goers gradually move through a series of eight different mini-pools of varying temperatures and hydro-jet pressures all while gazing out over the Mediterranean.
