Ideal for Winter Season
A dream vacation destination, Bora Bora is hopelessly romantic, beautiful and tranquil. Home to some of the most impeccable cruising grounds in the world, the French Polynesia region provides charter guests with calm, crystal-clear waters, picture-perfect scenery and pristine beaches that will make you never want to leave.
- Day 1
Embark in Tahiti
The largest island in French Polynesia, and the gateway to one of the most extraordinary charter regions on earth
Board your chosen yacht rental in Papeete and settle in as the crew prepares a welcome lunch on deck. Tahiti yacht charters begin in a port town that is considerably more layered and interesting than its reputation as a transit hub suggests, and an afternoon here before the overnight passage to Bora Bora is time well spent.
The island's Botanical Garden in Papeete is one of the finest in the South Pacific, with a remarkable collection of tropical species and a peaceful setting that makes for an easy first afternoon ashore. Those with more energy should head to Point Venus on the island's northern tip, the black sand beach, and the lighthouse marking the spot where Captain Cook observed the 1769 transit of Venus across the sun.
Inland, the Papenoo Valley cuts through the island's volcanic interior past waterfalls and ancient marae temples, best explored by 4x4 with a local guide. Return to the yacht for dinner as the sun drops below the horizon and the crew sets course for Bora Bora overnight.

Arrival in Bora Bora
The lagoon that changed the definition of turquoise
Wake to the sight of Bora Bora on the horizon, the volcanic peak of Mount Otemanu rising sharply above a ring of coral reef and the impossibly blue waters of what is widely considered one of the finest natural lagoons in the world. Yacht charters in Bora Bora deliver an arrival that very few other destinations can match for sheer visual impact.
The lagoon's marine life is the main event on this first full day. A remarkable concentration of blacktip reef sharks, lemon sharks, eagle rays, and manta rays inhabits the central lagoon in unusually high numbers, making it one of the most accessible and rewarding dive and snorkel sites in French Polynesia.
For those who prefer to stay above water, the yacht's tender can navigate between the motu, the small sandy islets that fringe the outer reef, for a private beach stop and a long afternoon in the shallows. Return on board for a sunset dinner with Otemanu's silhouette as backdrop.

Bora Bora
Manta rays, black pearl markets, and the finest beach in the South Pacific
Begin the morning at the Bora Bora Lagoonarium, a unique open-water marine enclosure where you can swim directly alongside manta rays, sharks, and tropical fish in a controlled but genuinely wild environment. It is one of those experiences that feels both entirely safe and completely extraordinary, and it is among the most popular stops on any French Polynesia yacht charter.
In the afternoon, make for Matira Beach on the island's southern tip, the only fully public beach on Bora Bora and consistently ranked among the most beautiful in the South Pacific, with shallow turquoise water and white sand that stretches for over a kilometre.
For charter guests wanting a more indulgent close to the day, the St Regis Bora Bora Resort offers beachside spa treatments and couples massages that can be arranged for late afternoon, a fittingly unhurried end to the day before a private dinner on board.

Tupai & Return to Tahiti
A heart-shaped atoll, a final flight, and a last morning on the water
Rise early for one of the most remarkable experiences available on a French Polynesian charter, a seaplane flight over the heart-shaped atoll of Tupai, a virtually uninhabited coral island lying just north of Bora Bora.
From the air, the symmetry of the reef and the gradations of blue from deep ocean to shallow lagoon are unlike anything visible from sea level, a perspective on French Polynesia that very few visitors ever see.
Back on board, the morning is yours before the yacht begins the return passage to Tahiti, a final opportunity to kayak through the lagoon, snorkel above the reef, or simply sit on deck and absorb the particular quality of light that makes yacht charters in the South Pacific unlike any other region on earth.
Disembark in Papeete with time to browse the Papeete market for black pearls and vanilla before departing, two of French Polynesia's finest exports, and a fittingly tangible reminder of the week.
