5 Of The Best Things To Do On A Singapore Yacht Charter

By Oliver Pearson   Last Updated: 18 April 2023

A Singapore superyacht charter offers guests spectacular variety. From light shows to beautifully preserved gardens and a cutting edge science museum, this spectacular island offers a range of opportunities to those chartering its waters. Discover the best things to do when visiting Singapore on a yacht charter.

As well as being home to one of the fastest-growing marina communities, Singapore offers a wide variety of attractions to its superyacht guests. On a Singapore luxury yacht vacation you’ll have the freedom to design your own itinerary - whether you choose to get amongst Singapore's vibrant city culture, dive into its vast tropical waters, or simply take in its sites and skylines from the comfort of your yacht, you’ll quickly realize why the place is so highly regarded.

To help get you started, our experts have hand-selected some of the best things to do on the island on your superyacht charter.

1. Visit the ONE°15 Marina Club

Nestled within the impressive Sentosa Cove, the ONE°15 Marina Club is at the centre of Singapore's emerging yachting community. Having earned a number of awards for its hospitality and amenities, the club provides an ideal retreat for boaters visiting the island.

Designed with both families and couples in mind, the marina offers signature spa treatments, fine dining and a variety of recreational programmes. Situated on the scenic waterfront, the club isn’t wrong to think of itself as a 'luxurious playground by the sea’ and more ‘lifestyle destination’ than 'resort’.

Consistent with Singapore’s ongoing commitment to yachting, the marina has plenty of berthing options and facilities to meet the needs of its yacht charter visitors. The perfect antidote to Singapore’s city surroundings, the marina makes for a suitably relaxing stop-off on your charter vacation.

A commitment to all things modern is what truly distinguishes Singapore from other leading charter destinations

2. Visit the ArtScience Museum

The first and only of its kind, Singapore's ArtScience Museum features both permanent and touring exhibitions. Located on the Marina Bay waterfront, the museum's lotus flower structure demands almost as much attention as the work hosted inside.

Designed by the internationally regarded architect Moshe Safdie, the building is more commonly referred to as ’the welcoming hand of Singapore’ and is every part a modern landmark. The curators of ArtScience have ensured that only the very best of the art world is brought to its twenty galleries.

Within walking distance of the shops at Marina Bay Sands, the museum makes for a perfect way to spend an afternoon out on the island.

3. Sunbathe on Lazarus Island

Whilst beaches may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Singapore, there are plenty of hidden spots which rival even the most popular destinations.

Possibly the best of these is Lazarus Island, a location easily accessed by taking a short ferry from the Marina south pier. With completely unspoilt sand and turquoise waters, the island offers a perfectly picturesque environment in which to enjoy the island climate.

Due to being relatively unheard of, the island doesn’t have as many amenities as others and it’s worth stocking up on supplies before heading over. With ferries running later on Sundays, a quiet day of sunbathing on Lazarus Island makes for a perfect end to your week in Singapore.

Going to great lengths to care for visitors which arrive by yacht, Singapore is an unquestionably ideal charter vacation

4. Watch a Light Show

As if Singapore’s skyline wasn’t impressive enough, artists have taken to regularly illuminating it in a series of light shows. Perhaps the most popular of these is the Wonder Full at Marina Bay Sands, hosted daily at 8:00 and 8:30. Whilst this show can be comfortably enjoyed from your yacht, the music and images projected onto the water features can only be properly appreciated a little closer up.

Another of the island’s iconic shows is the Crane Dance, which takes place Thursday through Monday at Sentosa Resort. Reflecting light off large steel structures, the performance tells the story of two birds falling madly in love. Entirely magical and complete with a dramatic finale, the Crane Dance makes for a fitting end to a day spent in this part of the island.

5. Take a Walk Through Gardens by the Bay

Bringing the city life of Singapore to the waterfront, Gardens by the Bay offers a unique experience to yacht charterers. Spanning 250 acres and 3 gardens, the project has established itself as a premier outdoor recreation space.

As well as large, open spaces, there are beautifully designed conservatories and domes for visitors to spend their time in. Arranging tropical flowers around different themes, there is a playfulness to the attraction which captures the imagination of all its guests.

As might be expected, the gardens puts on an unequalled light show at night, so it’s worth arriving towards the evening to get the most out of the attraction.

Taking the time to visit during your yacht charter will give you a real sense of why Singapore is known as the 'city in a garden'.
